Registration

Preamble

Make your life easier! Log in to the meeting website before placing your order. This will link your registration to your account and prefill your information. Don't have an account? No problem. You'll create one as part of registration.

• Registration Required: All meeting participants are required to register for the meeting. Session organizers are responsible for ensuring that all of the participants in their sessions register. Failing to register by 31 May 2019 will result in the removal of the entire panel from the program for organized sessions and removal of the paper for contributed paper sessions.
• Discounted Registration for HSS Members: All HSS members enjoy discounted registration rates. Check your membership status. Log in to your UCP account and and go to Manage Subscriptions. Isis should show "Active."
• Become a Member: Join over 75% of our attendees by becoming a member of the History of Science Society. Save money on registration, receive Isis and Osiris, gain access to the HSTM database, and more. Join HSS  
• Sponsor a Scholar: For scholars from non-OCED countries, HSS offers sponsored memberships. Find out more about how to apply for the Sponsor-a-Scholar program.
• Excursions: HSS is offering several excursions on Tuesday, 23 July 2019. These excursions are booked separately from registration. See available options and how to book on the excursions page.

What's Included with Registration?

• Registration includes entrance to all paper sessions, coffee breaks, book exhibit, and the HSS cafe.
• One ticket for all special events and their receptions. This includes the following events:
  • The Plenary Session and Opening Reception, to be held in the beautiful Janskerk on Tues. 23 July
  • The Prize Ceremony, Distinguished Lecture, Prize Ceremony Reception, to be held in the sublime Domkerk on Thurs. 25 July
  • The Elizabeth Paris Public Engagement Lecture and Reception, to be held in the Spoorwegmuseuem (Railway Museum) on Fri. 26 July
  • All guests will require a guest ticket for the first two events, available below. Guest who want to attend the Paris Lecture must register via our online form (registration is free).
• In our ongoing commitment to sustainability and because of better web accessibility, we are no longer including printed programs with registration. If you desire a printed program, you must order one below. The meeting program is available now online. (Clicking the green Print button will allow you to save the preliminary program as a PDF.) You can also access the program via our meeting app, called Dryfta. Download it for iOS or for Android. A PDF of the official meeting program will be available for download after the document has been finalized.

Donations

The History of Science Society relies on your support! The donation options listed below allow you to make a donation with your registration. However, if the donation options are too limited or you would like to contribute to a fund not listed below, please visit our donation page on the University of Chicago Press website.

How to Register

1. Review purchase options below. Continue scrolling to place your order.
2. Select the number of attendees. Select "1" if buying for yourself.
3. If you're buying for yourself, check the "Buying for yourself?" box. This will prefill the form where available. You may have to scroll up a little to see the option.
4. Complete the form. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk.
5. We ask below whether you plan on attending some events. Your response will guide us in organizing the event locations and ordering food and drink. Thank you in advance!
6. Choose your donation, registration, and extra options by selecting their respective boxes, located on the right side of the screen.
7. Click Checkout. Enter billing info. You'll be able to pay by credit card or PayPal.
8. Click "Complete Payment" to register for HSS 2019.
9. You will receive a receipt via email. Receipts are also always available for download or printing from "My Dashboard" on the meeting website.
10. Review ticket options and scroll to "Select Number of Attendees" to begin. Contact us if you have questions or problems.
