The Royal Society is the UK academy of science and we have been publishing high quality, peer reviewed journals since 1665. Our first journal, Philosophical Transactions was the world's first scientific journal. It established the fundamental principles of scientific priority and peer review, used throughout scientific publishing ever since. Today, our journal archive spans more than 350 years of science and we publish 11 journals across the scientific spectrum. Our portfolio includes Notes and Records, our history of science journal and Biographical Memoirs, a unique compilation of memoirs celebrating the lives and scientific achievements of Fellows of the Royal Society. We have also recently launched Science in the making, a platform that allows readers to search, browse, transcribe, translate and feedback on more than three centuries of seminal science.
