About Me
John Christie spent his career in the Division of History and Philosophy of Science, University of Leeds, and currently pursues his research with the support of the good offices of the University of Oxford. He has written on Scottish Enlightenment science, the history of C18th. chemistry and medicine, Paracelsan alchemy, historiography of science, and on science fiction. Recent work includes editing and contributing to several journal special issues, and book chapters on the industrialization of chemical manufacture, and on artistic and other representations of chemistry in the C18th. Current work includes participation in the project 'Science, History of Science and Modernity' at MPIWG Berlin, and a longer term project on Joseph Priestley.
