About Me
PhD student of History and Philosophy of Sciences at the University of Lisbon, working on the intricate relations between natural history collections and colonial contexts. Specifically, in my dissertation "Taxonomy and Empire. Zoogeographical research on Portuguese Africa, 1862-1881" I consider the negotiations behind nomenclature practices regarding the Portuguese zoological collections on Angolan fauna in the late nineteenth century.
I hold a degree in Design, a post-graduation in Museum Studies and a MSc in History and Philosophy of Sciences. I have worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, as an exhibition worker and curator for different institutions, and as a museum educator in different museums with collections both artistic and scientific.
